Online Gambling to the Rescue

Okay, I just got through reading an article written by some woman in Malta insisting that gambling is the worst vice in the world. Funny, I thought Dick Cheney was the worst vice in the world.

But in all seriousness, the debate over whether or not to legalize and regulate gambling has been going on in many countries for many, many years. Be it lotteries, church bingo halls, racetracks etc., gambling, it appears, ain’t gonna simply disappear. And neither will those good folks with gambling problems.

Now, with the advent of online gambling, the long-existing problems pertaining to gambling are indeed on the rise. You don’t have to be an actuary to figure that out. But we’d all be a little bit wiser and slightly more human when we ‘deal’ with gambling addiction instead of crying about how bad it is while trying to sweep the problem under the casino rug (i.e. prohibition).

That, unfortunately takes money. But given the bonanza currently being enjoyed by the online gambling sector all around the planet, a little taxation and regulating can go a long way. Hell, anything’s better than denial.
